"Kay Voigtmann's garden is history. Like others roam forests, the artist wanders through the centuries - strange things are collected, seemingly banal things are tracked down and the facts (or better: gaps) of historiography offer plenty of space for fantasies and images. (. ..) The Voigt men and women pose silently, similar to silhouette portraits, when you had to sit still for hours for everything to work out - while time passes around it. Strangely absent and emotionless, the protagonists look out into the world, their astonished gaze directed into the distance, who just now has blown the dust off them, the spot turned on them.
