The dream of all religions being united

Impressions, photographs and paintings from and about Egypt in the hospital - Fayed's dream worlds

Magically, the painting by Sayed Amin Fayed. Reproduction: Günter B. Kögler

The hospital currently showcases oriental art: artists from the fields of photography and painting, presenting their works on three floors and it's all about the subject "Egypt".

The exhibition organised by Art Agency Hammond not only provides space for professionals. The "lilac corner" on the first floor is in children hands, where pupils of the primary and secondary school Maistraße have created together with the GermanSchool in Alexandria their ideas of the distant land of the Nile artistically: from sunset on mosques, on pyramids or hieroglyphs on papyrus paper everything, which also is associated with the holiday destination.

The Egyptian painter Sayed Amin Fayed is not interested in the representation of reality. With his paintings, whose technique is reminiscent of silk painting, the in 1950 born artist, attracts the viewer into a dream world. Plants, animals and peoples blend to ambiguous figures and leave an almost magical impression: central theme of his work is the mutual interaction between all living things. With the picture "Three brothers and a mother" Fayed for example conjures up the unity of the three major world religions.
